About
«I have just discovered something I have always known: we can no more escape from one another than we can escape from God.».
— Georges Bernanos
To write is a difficult thing; not many men find pleasure in it. In fact, I would think that most men find in writing not pleasure, but pain.
I, although, have a mixed relationship with it. For me, to write is not a pleasure, but a necessity. To not write would be torture, even if to write I must suffer with sweat and blood.
That may be the reason I was attracted to philosophy from a young age, and even more may be the reason that made me pursue law as a career. And it also is the reason that takes me here, to write this strange blog that won’t be found by anyone anywhere.
Writing a blog is distinct from writing for social media, in a sort of way. When writing on Substack, Twitter, or even on my public social media, I am writing not exactly for myself, but for an algorithm, a soulless machinery that commodifies and alienates what once was thought of as the most personal product that human labor can make. When writing a blog, I am freer. Not truly free—we will never be truly free from one another, as said the great Bernanos. But here I am free from the needs of a format, from the needs of a specific commercial writing style, and free from the demands of capital.
That’s why I made this blog: to share more private thoughts, to share my hobbies, to share everything that would be too boring for any other media. I intend to share my thoughts about philosophy, about theology, about law (mainly about what most interests me: privacy rights, intellectual property, digital law), and about anything else that comes to mind.
If you find any interest in the ramblings of a lost man, you are welcome to follow me here. If not, well, you are free to go as you please, and soon forget this weird blog that you found God knows how. Either way, be free to do as you please.
